Are all strings made the same?

I am not impressed by celebrity endorsements.

However, Andreas Segovia was not only instrumental (no pun intended) in developing the nylon string, but worked in concert with Albert Augustine (Master Luthier and Luthier TO The Master), whom in turn both worked with DuPont, to develop the modern nylon classical guitar string.

I have played many strings; Savarez, Sevilla, Vinci, Washburn (turns out they're Vinci as well), Fender, and yes, Augustine.

Augustine Regal Gold are unbelievable good; and at a price that is incomparable. I have played "better" strings, or so they claim; but none have the tonality initially or over time that Augustine strings do. Especially when you consider the "bang for the buck." Sevilla may sound better for a week or two, but under long sessions they stretch and change tonality so much that I have to re-tune multiple times during a session; afterwords I have to relax tension or the next time I go to play, the strings are quite sharp and excessive tension has been placed on my neck during storage.

Augustine stretch less over time, but are incredibly supple and flexible; so much so that you never notice they are more technically rigid and tuned with a higher tension than Sevilla or Savarez; for my dollar they are the best on the market, and I am proud to say "I use The Master's Strings."
